California Law Mandates Women on Corporate Boards

California's governor has signed into law a mandate to include women on corporate boards. The legislature cites data that suggests that gender diversity on boards is beneficial to companies' financial performance.

The law is very interesting because it covers public companies with its principal offices in California even if they are incorporated in other states--California directly regulates the internal affairs of all corporations based in the state.

CNBC posted an article discussing the law: https://www.cnbc.com/2018/10/01/california-law-will-require-women-on-corporate-boards.html?__source=sharebar|linkedin&par=sharebar.
